We purchased the bus in 2005 in a severely neglected state from a
farmer.
He sold the bus to us and as the bus was standing for more than two
years, we had to have it towed from the farm. Chubasco single handily
began to fix the bus. He removed some parts of the roof, removed the
rust from the body and started sanding down the entire bus in
preparation for her paint job. He had the engine redone and he had the
auto electrics sorted out.
By February 2006 we were able to send the bus for roadworthy clearance
and we had her licensed. We are in the process of becoming members of
the Cape Town Tourism Board. The bus is licensed for 50 passengers, but
we normally only allow up to 35 passengers as we have Passenger
Liability Cover for 40 passengers.
We are covered for in the event of an incident. The bus also has
Comprehensive Insurance Cover with a reputable insurance company.
The business is registered as DistinctiveChoice t/a KMB ENTERTAINMENT
BUS. KMB is derived from the initials of each of our children’s names.
Kayla, our eldest daughter, Marcelino and Bruce our baby.
